Art & Wellbeing Workshops
Play & curiosity
My teaching ethos is focused on play and exploration with an emphasis on curious approaches to the environmental crises we are living through. I encourage my students to pursue a ‘what if…?’ approach. My workshops & courses are open to children and adults developed around play schemas, which is a theory of open ended play that children adopt to investigate the world. This approach is really fun & works just as well for adults and children alike! I am a qualified teacher and workshop leader with over 15 years’ experience so you will be in safe hands.
Some example activities include:
The exquisite corpse (a surrealist drawing game)
Suminagashi (Japanese marbling)
Personal data journalling
Drawing a sound
Trash-emblage (sculptures made from waste materials)
Fifteen minute flaneurs (walk for 15 mins, taking photos, for example, of all the living things you see)
Drawing from feeling, not looking
Alter a book with origami or painting
And so much more!
I have worked with arts organisations such as Arts Council England, Stitched Up Theatre, ONCA, public artist Kerry Lemon as well as private sector businesses. Please get in touch via email at lila@lilawordsworth.com or phone at 07815 584184.
